Am Anfang war der Auftakt...

 






Über das Komponieren

Ist Stille nur Mangel an Klang, Abwesenheit von Musik? Oder ist sie, wie das Vakuum – keine Leere, sondern eine Fülle virtueller Materie, und enthält in sich alle möglichen Klänge? Umfasst Musik die Stille – oder wird sie von ihr umfasst, erschüttert sie die Stille – oder wird sie selbst von ihr erschüttert? 
So oder so, erst in Verbindung miteinander werden Musik und Stille wahrlich erlebt. Im Auftakt, kurz bevor die erste Note erklingt, sowie in jeder Pause fühlen wir das bei wahren Musikern. 
 
Heutzutage sind Menschen von Lärm umgeben – auch von dem, was sie als Musik betrachten. Der Klang wird völlig abgewertet. Ob ein Musikwerk etwas wert ist, hängt davon ab, ob es sich mit der Stille messen kann.

Bei mir lernst du nicht nur großartige Musik zu spielen, sondern auch eine Liebe zu Details entwickeln und  in der Komponistenküche den Schöpfern über die Schulter zu schauen - so, dass ihre Musik direkt zu dir spricht! Ich kann die geheimen Gedanken der Komponisten lesen - das glaubst du nicht? Überzeuge dich einfach selbst! Schließlich bin ich selbst auch einer.
Manche meiner Schüler sind professionelle Musiker geworden, obwohl sie nie daran dachten - sie hatten einfach Spaß, vor dem Publikum zu spielen und an Konzerten und Wettbewerben teil zu nehmen, oder sogar selbst zu komponieren. Und alle anderen gingen auch nicht leer aus: Sie haben nun das beste Hobby, dem man sein ganzes Leben lang nachgehen kann.

Corona or Punto coronato ("coronata" in some historical sources) is a fermata, a symbol of musical notation - a crowned dot. This symbol indicates that the note or rest is to be extended beyond the normal measure. Exactly how much longer it is held is at the discretion of the performer or conductor. When the conductor shows the orchestra a fermata, not only does the music linger but time itself gets put on hold. It seems to me that the "chief conductor" from the very top has put a fermata over all mankind (see more)
