Maria Genina

Maria is an extraordinary young pianist, harpsichordist and the winner of many awards.
She was born on March 15th, 1995 in Moscow in the artist-family and since 1996 live in Munich.
At the age of 5 Maria started studying piano under the teaching of her father, the composer and pianist Vladimir Genin and first played with an orchestra at the age of 12.
2007-2008 she performed the Piano Concerto No.1 in C major by L. v. Beethoven with the BMW-Orchestra under Daniela Wabnitz and with the Bad Reichenhall Philharmonic Orchestra under Thomas Mandl, the Piano Concerto No. 5 in F minor by J. S. Bach with International Philharmonic Orchestra of Germany (Dortmund) under Arkady Berin and the Piano Concerto No. 1 in G minor op. 25 by F. Mendelssohn-Bartholdy in The Prinzregententheater Munich with Attacca Youth Orchestra of the Bavarian State Opera under Allan Bergius (under patronage of General Music Director Kent Nagano)
2009-2013 she was a young student of the University Mozarteum Salzburg (piano class of Prof. Georg Steinschaden).  
Currently Maria is studying harpsichord and aicent music with Prof.Jörg Halubek, Historical Music Department at the Musikhochschule Stuttgart and in the Royal Academy of Music, London with Prof. Carole Cerasi.

Maria Genina (14 Jahre, Klavier), die jüngste unter den Musikern, musizierte als nächste. Sehr plastisch und mit wunderbar feinem Anschlag brachte sie die Sinfonia, den Einleitungssatz aus Bachs c-moll-Partita, zum klingen. Sehr ansprechend setzte sie Dynamische Differenzierung ganz gezielt ein. Ein beeindruckend transparenter Klangeindruck entstand im Kopfsatz aus Beethovens Sonate op. 14 Nr. 2 durch die Kontrastierung  von leggiero-  und legato-Anschlag und den vorsichtigen Umgang mit Pedal. Zartes Gespür für Klangmalerei prägte Debussys „L’isle joyeuse“.  („Jung, begabt und begeistert“ von Klaus Mohr,  Süddeutsche Zeitung vom 15.05.2009)

Im Konzertsaal im Untergeschoss des Hauses schleicht Professor Willem Brons wie eine grauhaarige Wildkatze um den Flügel, an dem Maria Genina voller Ekstase in die Tasten haut. Das ist allerdings kein wildes Geklimper, sondern höchst virtuose Musik. Die 13-jährige Münchnerin ist hochbegabt. Zusammen mit anderen „Wunderkindern“ im Alter von 13 bis 26 Jahren besucht sie hier die „International Summer Academy for Young Artists“ – ein zweiwöchiges Seminar für hochtalentierte junge Streicher und Pianisten. Unterrichtet werden die musikalischen Wunderkinder dabei von Dozenten mit Weltruf. Maria Genina fühlt sich allerdings gar nicht wie ein Wunderkind: „Ich würde das Talent nicht als Geschenk betrachten, denn mit Begabung allein schafft man gar nichts. Man muss auch viel an sich arbeiten.“ Die junge Pianistin, die aus einer durch und durch musikalische Familie kommt und über einen ersten Platz bei „Jugend musiziert“ nach Marktoberdorf gekommen ist, hat nicht nur Konzerte in Deutschland, sondern auch in England und Frankreich gespielt.
